GOT QUESTIONS?

Are you sorting through your faith?

Is your spiritual journey lonely or stuck?

Is your community of faith causing you pain?

Do you feel like an outcast?

Do you need a place to be honest and vent?

Are you unable to find your way forward spiritually?

Do you feel like you don't belong in church or your faith tradition anymore?

Do you want to explore faith related topics but aren't sure where or how?

Are you looking for answers at the intersection of faith and sexuality? Justice? Politics? Science?

Do you wonder if there is still room for you in your faith's tradition or practice?

Does Jesus, the church, or that Christian thing have anything to offer you?

Are you at a loss on how to act justly and love mercy in this world?

Do you want to begin to re-imagine, rebuild, and resurrect a faith that is worth living?

Let's talk.

SPIRITUAL BUT NOT RELIGIOUS

What's your higher power? Some say it is God; some say it's the outdoors or music; still, others say that they themselves are their own higher power. Regardless, spiritual direction is the practice that allows you to explore your sacred journey so you can share in it fully every day, in every moment.

Most of us live compartmentalized lives; spiritual direction helps us to bring unity to our lives so that we can be fully present in life, work, family, faith, and play. By providing a confidential and safe environment, spiritual direction offers a holistic approach to grow, explore, and examine your beliefs and their alignment with your lifestyle. As a spiritual director, it is not my place to pass judgment but to listen, as I serve as a guide by asking questions, pointing out observations, and learning more about your journey.

Spiritual direction is a great opportunity for those who desire to create depth in their faith, or even for those who have been met with harsh or cruel reactions from people of faith or their communities.

There are a growing number of people who have questions related to faith, God, the world, morality, and/or purpose but have little or no community in which to explore it without push-back or judgment. Spiritual direction can offer you the environment to delve into your faith without the fear of "getting it wrong" as you discover truth, goodness, and beauty in the world around you.

WALK ON WATER? WATER INTO WINE?

One part of spiritual direction is incorporating soul training exercises, or spiritual disciplines. In short, these are practices that help you to develop various components of your self to raise awareness and to begin to create new habits of life. Just like if you were wanting to get physically fit, you'd add certain body exercises to your workout based on what you desired to achieve, so do soul training exercises help build your "soul muscles" to develop one's spiritual self.

Some of the more common exercises are meditation, prayer, and study. However, with the help of a spiritual director, you'll discover other exercises and how they can help to unlock parts of your body, heart, mind, and social relationships to draw you into wholeness.

Some of these exercises include:

  • Sleep
  • Play
  • Counting your blessings
  • Solitude
  • Imagination

So while you may not learn how to walk on water or turn water into wine (wouldn't that be nice some days?), by incorporating these spiritual exercises into your daily rhythm of life you will grow into a gentle, humble heart, while experiencing rest in your soul.

A monthly or bi-monthly rhythm is recommended to allow for deep, slow transformation. Sessions are $60 for each 60 minute session.

A 20% discount is applied for the second session scheduled within one calendar month. For example:

  • first or only meeting in a calendar month = $60
  • second meeting in a calendar month = $48
